Bloody schoolwork things

Post by Asdra on Sat Aug 15, 2009 5:50 am

Just so everyone knows, I'm trying to make it on here when I can but I'm caught up in the middle of school things. Community college I'm going to need certain bits of info to give me financial aid, we're apparently screwing it all up and I still have to declare a major which I might not even get accepted to because the state schools where I live go by a system that I can call any number of things, the nicest of which still gets the label [CENSORED]. So I'll be...mostly gone for the next week or so while we get this straightened out, and by that point classes will have started, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have for posting then. Still trying to work things out and all that. Sorry everyone, I'm trying to be here and it's just not working out right now (BROOKLYN RAGE!!!)

Hopefully I'll be on more often again soon.

Cheers, everyone.

UPDATE:

Seeing as most of my problems seem to center around college, I figured I'd share this with you guys just as a kind of guide to what my schedule looks like not only for this fall semester, but for future semesters of college as well. As is listed elsewhere, I'm going for a degree in computer engineering with the potential for a double major or a minor in computer science. Here is my current class schedule for finishing just the Computer Engineering degree in 5 years:

FALL 2009
- Calculus 2
- Intro to Computer Organization and Problem Solving (replacing Engineering Analysis and Problem Solving)
- Intro to Computer Science
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS: 13

SPRING 2010
- Linear Algebra/Differential Equations
- Physics 1
- Engineering Modeling and Design
- Intro to Computer Science 2
- Intro to Signal Processing
- Beginner's Bowling
- Beginner's Rifling
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS: 16

SUMMER 2010
- Calculus 3
- Institutions (a reading-based course....blech)
- Engg. Statistics (equivalency)
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS: 10-11

FALL 2010
- Digital Logic
- Object Oriented Programming
- Electrical Circuits
- Discrete Structures
- Intro to ECE Lab
- Physics Lab 2
- Advanced Rifling
- Beginner's Archery
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS: 13

SPRING 2011
- Data Structures
- Electronics
- Computer Organization
- Logic & Signals Lab
- Mathematics Elective (w/ lab)
TOTAL CREDIT HOURS: 14-15

Keep in mind that I did struggle through calc 1, and so I fell behind in my classes, so that's making me have to work overtime to catch up. This also assumes that I get back to the college I was originally going to (long story why I'm not there this fall) for this coming Spring semester. And that's not even every class I need for this major...I still have two years left to fill after that, so...I dunno.

But there's the update. Feel free to ask questions if you have them, but the general gist is that, starting a week from tomorrow, I'll be busy like none other with school stuff and the like.

Peace.
