Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Empty Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching]

Post by Iskiea Thu Nov 26, 2009 11:09 am

IC Time: Mid Autumn 11AL
IC Setting: It's cooling down slowly but the sands are still quite warm.

It was here Solstice had laid her eggs, like the suspected the queens would in the future, they were yet to rise at this point in time but Solstice had made them all proud when she was the first queen [even if she was little] to use the hatching sands for her tiny little eggs.. Eight of them in total there was. There were many visitors that came by everyday to see her and it was on this particular day she was humming as her eggs began to rock..

Solstice X Lynx

Black Despair Egg - Blue Iggy to Kaimry
Sadness, despair, pain, all these thing relate to this egg with it's purplish black surface, that reminds you of Between, not a nice though considering how many have been lost between. The feeling that everything goes wrong around this egg is almost overwhelming and it seems to attract trouble in many forms.

Flowing Lava Egg - Brown Eachann to Donal
The blackness of the hardened lava combined with the glowing yellows and oranges of the moving liquid beneath the black hardened surface. The resemblance of this egg to the lava flows is rather remarkable really and it seems to give of a sense of warmth.

Fire Heart Egg - Blue Francaix to Mercer
Glass almost transparent except for one fiery source within. The Fire Heart, this egg looks like a glass globe encasing a burning fiery heart. This egg contains, the passion and dedication most feel for protecting their home, the place they grew up him.

Odd Spots Egg - Bronze Dizzy to Otania
An egg with a silvery appearance covered in what seems to be bright red spots surrounded by green.

Stormy Weather Egg - Green Marley to Kaimry
A raging storm goes on within this egg, with whirling winds and a blackness to the clouds, this egg seems to exude power and a wildness seems to hang about the egg. Those who do dare approach this egg are captivated by the seemingly calm eye of the major storm on the egg, but that calmness belies the force that lies within this egg.

Broken Shell Egg - Green Tune to Sobi
It looks as this egg was never put together properly like it was broken and hastily put back together as from a distance it has the illusion of being in many broken pieces not quite even looking like a whole egg.

Night's Rain Egg - Green ??? to Aluna
This egg is a shade of twilight with blinking stars and what looks to be water running from it. It reminds you of those night showers which seem to have a cooling and soothing presence for all.

Glass Mystery Egg - Green Allegra to Mercer
This egg looks for all the be dud just slipped in amongst the others, a perfect glass replica that seems almost see though like it predicted the sands pattern. But one will soon know if they can get close enough to put their hand behind the egg that it is just a mere illusion and in fact it really is an egg...

[okay.. go ahead and post.. Just remember these babies would be 5 months old at the other hatching..]

Kaimry had been in her room, reading through some of her sheet music, when Emmy started to fly around her head frantically. She only did this when she was really aggitated about something or she wanted Kaimry to do something.

"What is it now..." She said in an exasperated tone.

Emmy Flew by her head and bit her on the ear. She flew over to the door, Sending mental pictures of Kaimry opening the door and following her.

" You want to go for a walk? Suit yourself..."

Kaimry got up, opened the door and waled out. Emmy flew ahead of her, leading her somewhere. She eventually reached the hatching sands. There a Tiny gold firelizard sat watching her eggs.

" A hatching? So thats why you where so worked up?Hmmmm..Those are some interesting eggs"

She walked over and sat down about 10 feet away from the eggs.Emmy had finally calmed down, and had landed on Kaimry's head.

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Empty Re: Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching]

Post by Iskiea Thu Nov 26, 2009 12:22 pm

It was a wet green that rolled from the stormy weather egg and toddled towards Kaimry.. It seemed the little thing's wings were too big for it as it tripped and tumbled towards Kaimry at well.. a rather quick rate of speed for a little one so young. When she made it there she clawed at her leg as it seeing if her claws would catch so she could climb up.

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Marley
Green to Kaimry
Clumsy; Sweet, Attention seeking

Shortly after that another little head made it's appearance from the Black Despair egg.. It was a little blue, smaller than his green sister who had hatched before him and in a loud squeak he flew towards Kaimry in a flustery panic as another egg cracked behind him..

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Iggy
Blue to Kaimry
Fluttery; Panicky and Easily Startled

The Odd Spots egg was the next to hatch and it provided much entertainment as the egg seemed to bounce and roll about where it was. Rolling in what seemed to be endless circles as more and more of what lay within it could be seen. Finally free of it's containment the little bronze dazedly and somewhat dizzily swayed back and forth bumping into Otania's leg with a sudden squeak he looked up at her and continued to just stare.

Otania looked at the Blue and green that had hatched. "I remeber you." Otania stated suddenly startling herself. "You are Kaimry, rider of Syllath. How is she doing anyhow? If you need help with her I am sure that Verreth and I can help." Otania said with a kurt nod as her attention was taken from Kaimry. she looked down at the little bronze that squeaked as it bumped into her leg. He was just staring at her. "now aren't you a little bundle of fun?" Otania asked no one in particular. She looked down at the bronze and Otania picked up the little bronze and grabbed a bowl of meat. She gave the dizzy bronze some then walked over to Kaimry and gave offered some to the other girl.

"Yours are probably hungry if Dizzy is hungry too." Otania said with a smile.

She looked at the little firelizards. She hadn't expexcted to get one let alone two of them. She was startled by Otania talking to her.

"Oh, yeah, that's me...She's doing quite well, she can be a bit...difficult at times though. Dizzy, eh? Nice name. Hmmm...Allrighty then, Hmmmm. The green is Marley and Iggy is the blue. Yeha, I guess they would be rather hungry, now wouldn't they? thank you."

She grabbed the bowl of meat and gave some to both Iggy and Marley who ate it faster than she could give it.

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Empty Re: Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching]

Buzzing had started throughout the area of a firelizard hatching taking place. Curious, Sobi had decided to go to the sands and see what exactly it was that was going on. It had taken some doing to get away without waking Sobisk as it was still daylight outside, but the young handler had managed it and now as she saw the eggs hatching she found herself grateful for the chance. She had a firelizard already, of course, but thankfully Mischeif was off making a nuisance of himself elsewhere and she didn't have to worry too much about him. The blue was a royal pain much of the time, but she loved him anyways, just like she loved Sobisk.

Moving into the cavern, Sobi saw that others were there and eggs were hatchings. There were a pretty good number for a firelizard hatching and Sobi moved excitedly where she could both see and be close enough should one of those newly hatched decide to come her way. She was thankful for her foresight in bringing a bowl of meat on her way passed the kitchens. It was supposed to be for Sobisk when he woke but she could always get more. And she'd have to wait a while to ever get another chance like this one. So it was worth it to listen to her bronze complain about his food going to a firelizard, if such should happen.

It seemed that the Broken Shell egg had already cracked open by the lithe green tail that stuck out from it and wiggled in the air. Beating on the side of the egg in what seemed to be her own unique rhythm until it cracked open letting her fall straight out onto the sands landing on her feet in a well executed roll. Proud of her entrance she puffed out her chest and strutted towards this woman with an enticing bowl of meat, this woman of course was Sobi and the little thing was really quite enamored by her.

Sobi's honey colored eyes widened in excitement as a darling green hatched and immediately set her eyes on the one she wanted. Delighted beyond belief Sobi fed the little green darling and carefully scooped her up. "Well then, Little One, what shall I call you? Mischief is going to have fun getting to know you."

The green flicked her tail back and forth to her own beat and looked expectantly up at her new Pet as the dark haired girl continued to feed her while trying to think of a good name. The green trilled softly, seeming to be making up a tune to the occasion of her hatching.

Sobi's eyes widened again. "I've got it. You seem to march to your own beat so I think I'll call you Tune, what do you think? Do you like it?"

The newly dubbed tune crooned happily at her Pet in acceptance of her name. Of course she liked her name, why wouldn't she. Her Pet was just perfect at picking things that was why she'd chosen her. Sobi was the best for her and Tune believed she deserved only the best in everything.

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Empty Re: Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching]

Post by Ammers Wed Dec 23, 2009 11:23 pm

The sands were scalding on Mercer's feet, even though the sandals, as he took a few tentative steps toward the little clutch. In passing he'd heard from a few of the kitchen workers that there were still a few eggs to be had from the latest flitter clutch. Of course, this was something the young man didn't want to miss out on. Having a firelizard was a status symbol, and he'd also heard you could teach them how to sing. He imagined if he could pull it off, he'd the the hit of any parties he graced with his presence.

But as Mercer neared the clutch, watching quietly as a few girls who had been there first took their turn and walked away with their new pets, he noticed something odd. Mercer stopped himself from turning to gaze at the last young woman's backside as she meandered off, and instead stepped up to kneel in front of the eggs. These were unlike the dragonet clutch his friend, Pascal, and he had stumbled across on the beach as young children. The mother gold had chased them off and scared them silly, so they never told anyone, having not understood what it was they had seen. But he vividly remembered the cream eggs, a gold one in the middle. It was what had sparked his initial interest in the subject of the creatures. But these weren't dragonet eggs.

"Hello, litte ones..." He murmured softly and fingered a fragment of one of the shattered eggshells. His dark gaze wandered over the remaining eggs which wobbled frantically, their occupants attempting to escape. Remembering the bundle of meat scraps he had snatched on the way out of the kitchens, Mercer pulled it out and unwrapped it. Hatchling firelizards were notoriously hungry citters, of course. The painful heat moved up his feet and calves as he waited, humming quietly.

Rocking steadily it was the Glass Mystery Egg to crack open first; beating the Fire Heart egg which lay rocking near it; equally as desperate to break free. Curling out of the Glass Mystery egg was the most beguiling green as she puffed her chest and did her best to distract the man in front of her from the hatching of her brother.. She was most important; she was the prettiest thing ever was she not; and she wanted it to stay that way and not have her stupid brother get in the way.

Little Gold; Big Sand [Flit Hatching] Temperance
Green to Mercer
Beguiling; Pitch Imperfect; Perfectionist

From the Fire Heart Egg cracked a blue tail that curled out as the rest of the body seemed to follow. For a long moment he sat there surveying the world with eyes as wide as saucers with a fascination that was innocent and child-like. He also watched his sister though he did look a little perplexed about what she was doing but he didn't mind that. Looking up at the man in front of him he gave a peep of hello.

"C'mon, girl..." Mercer waited eagerly for the green to hatch. Greens were always female, according to his father, whom had made it his business to write songs about the dragons for posterity. The female was a shiek creature, sassy and vain. He liked her instantly. "Here, you will be..." Mercer paused for a moment, holding out some scraps of meat for the hungry hatchling to devour while he thought of his favorite music and composers, bringing to mind a favorite little piano conceirto, "You will be Allegra."

And when the blue broke shell and began to inspect his surroundings, Mercer offered him some meat as well. What luck! Two in one try. Mercer hardly dared to think what might happen when the next dragon clutch hatched. "And you look like a Francaix." Mercer became concerned when the flitter took more than a few moments to realize that there was food being held in front of his face. Perhaps he might not be able to teach the pair how to sing a canon after all.

"Firelizards." Aluna said as she walked around. She was getting used to her surroundings and making sure that when the time came she could find her way to the sands and the place where the hatchlings and their riders stayed. But then she saw the firelizards hatching and wanted to see what was going on. Maybe she could impress one and get a feel for the sands. So she walked in and sat down on the sands, being careful that the sand would only get on her legs and not her butt. Then she looked around at the people she did not know and blushed. And now look at what she had gotten herself into! Now she was in an umfamiler place with people she did not know. Her head went down as her blush deepened.

Donal had a propensity for adventuring in the strangest of places. Therefore, it was perfectly reasonable for him to be roaming along the back of the Hatching Cavern. That being said, the commotion of firelizards hatching did draw his attention. Slipping closer, the young man saw that only two eggs remained unbroken. Intrigued, Don pushed between the other folks tending to their new hatchlings to get a closer look at those two eggs.

One looked like lava, the way the volcano over Landing had looked when it exploded so suddenly, forcing them all to flee. Donal still had a few horrific memories of those days, though he was young at the time. But this egg didn't have the fear associated with it that all of his nightmares about Landing did. This lava flow egg reminded him of the fireside at night, when his Papa would tell stories.

And the other egg was the night sky. The night sky of home, almost. But Pern was his home, and as a night person Donal felt an attachment to both eggs, for the comfort and for the night. Looking over to the humming gold, Donal gave her a smile and a little bow. "Whit bonnie eggs ye hae, gorgeoos," he said, his Scotsman accent still thick despite growing up for the most part on Pern. With Scottish parents and family, there was no real way that Don could have avoided acquiring the accent. "Appins one ay them ayggs is fur me?"
