Description: Taminy is 5'6. He's slim. He's never been very muscular, but he's a fast runner. His skin is halfway between pale and tanned...it's not really tanned but not exactly pale either. He has big, bright, inquisitive blue eyes, and wavy light brown hair, that's of medium length. He has freckles, but they are so light, you can barely see them. He usually wears a thoughtful look on his face. He doesn't bother much with what he wears, but it's usually of casual browns and blues.


Personality: Taminy is an intelligent boy. He is calm and thoughtful, curious and always willing to learn. He loves reading and learning, and can often be found on his bed, reading a book or jotting down observations he had made that day.

Taminy has a few quirky habits. The first, as mentioned above, is keeping a list of things he has observed about a particular topic. He'll write it down as soon as he observes it, if he has his pad with him, and if not, he writes it down before he goes to bed. His other quirk is staring. He forgets that it's rude, and will stare at anything that fascinates him until he has to look away.

Taminy is hard to figure out when it comes to other people. He likes sharing opinions with others, but he gets a bit shy in crowds. He's very friendly to those he knows, and isn't shy around them, but while he tries to be polite to everyone, he hangs back at parties, in crowds, etc.

Taminy rarely gets very angry, but he's very protective of his books, his observation list, and his friends. He will get upset if you harm any of these. He's also rather sensitive, and gets upset if he is insulted or something he has worked hard on is criticized.

History: Taminy was always destined to live in Pern. His parents, both Geneticists, had been working on the Pern project since before he was born. Pern was Lisa and Monty Collins' life, and, from the moment he was born, it was Taminy Collins' life, too. Having nowhere else to put him, they took Taminy to work with them from the moment he could walk, and talked to him about Pern from the moment he could listen. For seven years, the boy was groomed to be a Pernese colonist.

When the time finally came, he and his parents took the trip to the planet that was as much Earth's equal as seemed possible, and from there he started his new life - or, as his parents put it, his true life.

The event - of coming to a new planet, of trying out a new way of life - inspired Taminy's creative side. Soon after settling on Pern, he took to writing down everything he saw and did, in what he called an observation pad. He turned out to have quite a talent for writing, and began writing poems and short stories as well.

For eight years he lived in Pern, growing into his writing, being tutored and groomed by his parents. His father taught him chess, and he became quite good at the game, while it also taught him strategy.

When Thread fell, it caught everyone unexpected. Especially Taminy's parents; Doctor Collins and Doctor Collins were walking outside when Thread fell, and both were nastily scored. They died within hours. Fifteen-year-old Taminy moved in with his first cousin once removed, Alexander Collins.

When people started leaving to go to the newfound Caldera, at first Alexander and Taminy stayed at Landing; Alexander did not see why they had to leave; they'd made it here for ten years, why not longer? But when it became obvious that they had to move or die, they did.

Since moving to the Caldera, Taminy has Impressed to a little green firelizard he named Terry, and later another green firelizard dubbed Scatter.

Very recently Taminy was speaking to one of the 2nd Pass riders, when the rider's blue dragon told him that he would make a good dragonrider, something Taminy had never imagined he could be; he hadn't been deemed worthy of being in the candidate program, after all. But the dragon insisted he should be a candidate, and Taminy found himself one of the first people Searched as a candidate. He accepted, and looks forward to the next hatching, to see if he really has what it takes.

Description: Terry is a small green, of a pale minty color. She has no special markings or features other than her overlarge wings.

Description: A bit of a weird green being of a bright chartreusse green however it looks as though she has tipped a paint bucket on her herself as she has uniformly darker green splotches and drip marks across her hide. She a rather large green although she is slender in figure.

Personality: Silly, hyper, likes cutlery

Age: hatchling

Rider: Taminy Collins

Description: A sort of faded slate blue; Cendiriuth has little to no variations on his hide; bar a small darker blue mark on the inside of his right thigh; the mark looks something like a four leaf clover. Cendiriuth is rather average in his figure and also in his size hitting a respectable 14ft.

Basic Personality: Friendly : Forgiving. Keen.

Hatching Scene:

As if trying not to be to flamboyant and gawdy, the Peacock Egg slowly began to rock back and forth harder and harder. Finally when it seemed it would rock so hard it would fall over it stopped and remained absolutely still for a few minutes. Almost as if the little dragon inside needed a breather. Then without another movement the shell cracked and fell almost perfectly in two pieces.

Inside was a grayish looking blue, like slate almost only faded in color. He looked about him calmly and seeing his mother got up on all fours. He was a bit wobbly, but slowly he got his balance and went over to Galateath to give her a loving nudge on the forearm. After that he began looking for the one he wanted.

As he passed by the candidates he made sure to bump, nudge, or even lick in a friendly manner. None seemed to catch his eye however until he got to one boy in particular. 'Ah yes, you are most certainly the one for me, Taminy. Not that there is anything wrong with the others, but there is just something about you that I love more. I hope that you feel the same way about your Cendiriuth.'
