Description: Zachariah is young, but his height of 5'7 at only fourteen years promises a tall man once he's grown. He's got a healthy, strong body. Being of Jamaican descent, he has beautiful creamy milk-chocolate brown skin. Brown, medium-length, dreadlocked hair frames a face that still looks rather soft (though not as soft as the above picture), but is starting to gain some good sharpness around his jaw- and cheekbones. His eyes are black, but rather than appearing cold they have a warm, deep quality about them. He is often seen shirtless, as he prefers being outside doing fun stuff to being inside doing boring stuff - and when he's outside, if the weather permits, he likes to be shirtless.

Personality: Zachariah is a very easy-going teenager; his hobbies are kicking back, scarfing down food, and running around doing fun stuff outside. What is fun stuff? Pretty much anything. Swimming, running, kicking a ball around with someone, you name it. He's pretty flexible and likes to practice flips and handstands when there's nobody to play with. Needless to say he's athletic; how else would he burn off all that teenage energy?

He's basically a typical teenager, liking to joke around and hang out with friends. He's developing an interest in the ladies, but isn't really a big flirt. He's actually a very sweet kid, sensitive and definitely not a player. He's more of the old-fashioned, bring-flowers-for-your-date kind of guy. He's sweet, and you can be sure any compliments are genuine. He's the kind of guy who you can cry on his shoulder and not worry about being taken advantage of.

Zacha is still a bit naive to the world, and still strives for fairness in life. He frowns on cheating, or taking advantage of people, and will resist peer pressure to do such things, though he's more...eh...passive resistance? He is a more passive kind of guy, though he's more than willing to defend anyone he thinks needs it...though his idea of defense is less physical and more "hey dudes, c'mon, leave them alone, they haven't done anything to you." That's him. Passive resistance. Like Martin Luther King Jr....not that Zacha has ever heard of him.

Zacha has a thing for math. He just likes numbers, likes playing with them, likes finding answers to them. He loves how in math, A+B always equals C and that's how it is. He loves how cool it is to figure things out in math...how you can take a bunch of numbers and letters and turn them into something. And he thinks it's awesome how math can be used in real life and not just on paper, to figure things out. ((I'll be adding more later...once I think of more to put...=/))

History: Zachariah only lived on Earth for four short years before coming to Pern, and he doesn't remember much of it. He only has a few blurred memories of life as a child, In fact his earliest clear memories are on Pern, running and playing with other young colonists, going on hikes and adventures with his parents, being tutored in math and language arts and such - not much science, because nobody really knew how different Pern was from Earth, and no history - they were making their own history now.

Though his parents had set him up with a tutor, he never spent all that much time with her; his parents had come to Pern because they detested the technology that was taking over the world, and had wanted to start over. They were basically nature freaks, and as such loved to go on hikes and go exploring in the lands around Landing, taking their son with them. Zachariah grew up in a relaxed, athletic atmosphere. The only thing that really changed about his tutoring is that once he discovered his liking of math, he started taking that more, and eventually dropped the language arts.

But that was a small change. A big change came when Zacha was nine years old. He and his parents went out on a hike as usual one day, though it was cut short as they found themselves in a place with a plethora of bugs. Zacha managed to avoid getting bitten, though his mother was not so lucky. Nothing much was thought of the bite, however. Unfortunately though, a few days later Zachariah's mother fell ill, from a distorted version of malaria, magnified far past the boundaries of Earthen malaria. She died days later, and Zacha and his father were left alone.

They managed. They both grieved, but they managed. They went exploring less, and Zachariah threw himself into his studies more. For three more years, they managed. But then came something unheard of and unexpected: Thread. And this time his father didn't escape at all. He was hit by Thread which devoured him in minutes; Zacha himself narrowly missed Threadscore.

Zacha's already small family was suddenly severed, he the lone survivor. He didn't have any relatives to turn to; instead a family friend, Claudia Martingale, took him in. She was a psychologist, ironically enough, and was able to help him with the grief of losing his father as well as his mother.

Now he and Claudia - whom he calls Aunt Claudia, though they aren't related - and her two dragonets, Kipper and Sushi, live at the Caldera. They get along relatively well - even if Zacha does get frustrated at times from having to put up with living with a psychologist.

Zacha stumbled upon a stranger by the name of Azreal in the caverns one time, and several eggs; he ended up bonding to one of the creatures that hatched - dubbed 'whers' - a blue named Zask.
