Description: Victor stands over six feet tall and always carries himself with a straight back. His graying hair has been allowed to grow out some since his retirement to Pern, and a bit of a paunch has crept into his stomach. He has a very prominent nose and can often be found yelling out orders. He rarely smiles, but at the same time does not frown much. At a glance it is easy to tell he has spent his whole life in the military.

Personality: No nonsense sums up Victor. His attitude is that of complete control, taking charge of situations and things being done to the highest of standards. He has little tolerance for the firelizards, and has doubts about the dragon program being hatched, literally, by the geneticists. He is often supportive of those who call for military discipline and believes the best way to combat Thread would in fact be to find ways to replicate the sleds and train people in their use. However in his 'off' duty time he does enjoy sitting down with a good mug of wine or ale, and watching the younger people of Pern.

History: Born into a line of military men, Victor was destined to be a soldier. His father, his two uncles, and his brother before him all had served, and when the time came he gladly enlisted on Earth. He served his country fully, rising to the rank of General before in his late 40's hearing about the Pern expedition. He had not felt the need to retire but at the suggestion of some of his compatriots and superiors it was suggested he go along for his long years of service. Eventually, Victor agreed to go. He was honorably discharged and given significant benefits as a new colonist for Pern when he signed up, given his age, experience, and rank.

He had settled down and started to enjoy his life, occassionally piloting the shuttles for those travelling farther out from Landing. But then the disaster of Threadfall occurred. It was sheer luck he was in a sled doing a transport when it happened, for normally he would have been sitting out in his garden working at that time. He quickly realized the threat and helped organize the remaining colonists to be sled pilots and took charge of one of the flights himself, becoming Red squadron Leader. His rank in the military has kept him pressuring people to find alternatives. Not trusting the geneticists much, he still encourages people to find other solutions to their new enemy.
