Military Men (Open, military types!)

IC Time: 4 days before the hatching, late July in late summer.

Victor paced slowly back and forth, his hands held rigidly at his sides. His head glanced back and forth, scanning the people walking around the caldera for any of the young men and older gentlemen he knew to be former military adjuncts like himself. He had called for a meeting of like minds, of those who understood the demands of a determined military force, to discuss the current situation, and now was the time.

He glanced at his watch. It was three minutes until the start time of 1pm, and he had yet to see anyone arrive. With a low growl the aged general glanced about him once more. Being on time and well mannered were ingrained into him from a young age back on Earth, and he expected the same of the men who both had been in the military and those who desired it.

In fact his current nickname was the result of his rank, by those who respected his history. It was not uncommon to hear people refer to him simply as "the General" and he had learned it was best to respond when they called. It had started shortly after his arrival on Pern ten years before and since becoming a squadron leader had skyrocketed. He doubted some of the men around him even knew his real name, but as long as they followed orders, Victor did not really care.

With frown on his face and the wind messing with his gray hair, he looked around once more for attendees to the meeting.
