Description: Thanks to his profession he’s built quite solidly for someone of average build. 5’ 10” in height he’s no giant but he sure has a fair bit of muscle to make up for it but not too much to hide under normal clothing. His skin doesn’t seem capable of holding a strong tan, let alone freckles as it tends to burn somewhat but has a nice healthy tone. What few scars he have faded away, all except for one over his left collar bone.

Personality: Restless probably sums this man all up into one word. Ryan was never one to be cooped up indoors, but his constant itch to be busy is a downfall. On bad days he will not be afraid to pick fights, even those he will not win just because he needs to release pent up energy. However he does try to be a gentleman when he can, though often falls flat on his face. Sometimes literally.

History: Born in America to a middle class family, Ryan pretty much lead a normal life. He had 3 brothers and a sister, an alcoholic father and a struggling mother who poured her heart into keeping the family together. With a poor but better then some start to life it wasn’t surprising that Ryan came close to being a bully if it wasn’t for the morals and hard work of his mother. Instead he tried to use that energy for better in sports, finding a comfortable position on the school football team for much of his education.

Once graduated he enlisted in the Military, knowing he wouldn’t be able to apply himself to a normal, docile career and never regretted it. It was something that always kept him on his toes and was never quite the same day twice. While happy with his chosen life he signed himself up for the Pern venture more on a whim, not expecting to actually be selected with such little training.

Not much has changed since Landing, though life has gotten a little too dull for his liking. After the first settling years he was assigned a horse to reduce strain on sled power traveling to outlying stakes, a beautiful mare he lovingly named after his own little sister; Chloe. Thread however was not exactly what he had planned to liven things up, and lost a few friends in the first fall. He himself was nearly caught in it at least on one occasion like everyone. Hence why he’s signed himself up as a candidate, not on a whim this time but more for the adventure it promised and the ability to actually make a difference.

Description

A lovely chestnut color, she was one of the first foals of Pern’s second generations of equines and first of live selective breeding. With a wide set strip down her forehead and four white socks, she isn’t hard to notice in the herds. Bred looking for a balance between strength and speed, Chloe looks like a bit like a skinny draft or an over muscled sprinter.

Personality
A fairly quiet and gentle mare, she verges on docile as she reaches full maturity. Very much a sweetheart she goes well with her rider’s role with the colonists, and since he refuses to push her she treats him very well in return. Chloe has also proven herself a good mother, having birthed a fine colt son for the gene pool.
