Description: One word is often used to describe Deran, and that word is "lanky". Both of his parents are much like him, tall and thin without much muscle and very long of leg. With runners for parents it was only natural he would pick up the habit, and so his legs are tough and boy can he move! His dark hair is often kept cut short and a bit spikey, and always seems windblown about. When he is running errands or messages his lips are often pressed in a thin line and his eyes narrowed, intent on his task, but the rest of the time he is prone to smiling and laughing. The other notable feature about his body is the faint scar running lengthwise down his left arm, where as a child he ran and fell against a saw. It is a scar that has lasted him his entire life.

Personality: Deran has a habit of being very outgoing. Helping run messages with his parents introduces him to a lot of people so he is not at all shy about saying hello to new people, and makes friends fairly easily. He never seems to sit down for long, except when it comes to August, his little firelizard, whom he adores and shows off whenever she can be coaxed from her shyness. He prefers to be outdoors when he can, and doing active things around others even if it is just walking around or crafting.

History: Micheal and Lucy Wallace were both postal workers in a small rural community when they heard about the Pern colonization effort and wasted no time in signing themselves and their 14 year old son Deran up for the effort, knowing they would have a place in the new colony. Deran was reticent at first but once on Pern he started making friends and taking an active part in helping their careers delivering messages locally, where the powerful sleds would be wasted. His habit of having to help his parents made friendships hard at first, but he did acquire a few staunch and true friends. As he grew older he became more involved with his parent's encouragement in what was going on in their colony and started focusing on making new friends once he broke free of his teenage years. Now he is determined to help out Pern in any way he can, because he has come to feel it to be his real home.

Description: August is a little green - by no means a runt but definitely on the small side. Most of her body is the same, deep earthy green shade, but underneath on her chest and stomach the coloration fades to a much different green, almost bordering on blue. Her muzzle goes the opposite direction, with the very tip being a dark forest green. Her wings are the only other oddity, where the green tends to vary between slightly lighter and slightly darker shades of the main body, but this is only apparent when she holds still in bright light.

Personality: Nothing about this little lady says more than her shyness. In fact most people do not even realize she is with Deran, because she hides against his neck or on his hair, sometimes even sneaking into whatever pouch he might be carrying. Given that though she loves to scamper about Deran's body, or find a spot to hide and then jump out or attach herself to. She has a great love of being played with however for all her shyness -- its just getting past that initial hiding stage! It helps when other fire lizards are about, because their presence and Deran's make the little girl much more at ease. She rarely tries to let Deran out of her sight if she cannot be on his shoulder or in his bag.

Description: Large dark indigo blue, Tarath is the darkest of all the dragons hatched and by far the biggest of his blue brothers growing to a whopping 15ft in length. Deep chested and bulky, though not as deep chested as Salath he will be a front runner in terms of flights.

Basic Personality: Friendly : Happy. Artistic.

Detailed Personality: Tarath is an outgoing blue and quite likely to be found sticking his nose all over the place. He loves to see what others are doing and makes no bones about checking it out, be they dragon, firelizard, dragonet, or human. His happiness overflows too in a desire to create, often nudging things about into paterns and 'art' or thinking up new, witty things to tell Deran and the other dragons.

Mind Voice: Bubbly and light, reminiscent of water gurgling over rocks.

Motto: Never be ashamed of singing that's too joyful.

Hatching Scene: A particularly dark blue slipped from his egg being confused with a particularly dark blue tail waving out of the egg next to him. Rolling out of his egg there seemed to be a laughing note to his gurgling croons of delight at being upside down. Rolling over he played with the sand in his paws and when he finally was done with what he had created he bounced up and down on the spot waving his tail maddly.

He seemed to be so excited at what he had made even if it wasn't particularly good he was proud of it and hoped his rider would be too.
