Description:
John is a tall man standing at an even 6ft tall, he's broad chested and shouldered with a tapered waist and dense thick muscle. He's quite strong with dark tanned skin, he enjoys outdoor work the most and often makes 'house' calls to his patients. He's not exactly brooding by he does sometimes give off that air. To everyone he greets them with an easy and warm smile. He has neatly kept dark brown hair and neatly trimmed facial hair, his hazel eyes twinkle with a mischief that has most hearts racing. He prefers loose shirts and well fitted pants, fitted enough that it doesn't impeed his movement. He can often be seen wearing a fitted vest and carrying a satchel type bag from visit to visit.

Personality: Dependable, Sharp and Witty is the best way to describe John. He's a gentle man with a good sense of humour, he never fails to make any of his patient's smile and each one is as precious to him as family is. He's quite sharp and intelligent and never misses a beat with anything, if anything he is too intuitive. John is one of the most dependable people you will meet, he will do his very best to make everything right and to uphold friendship and professionalism between himself and others. If something needs doing you can depend on John to pitch in and help, he's never afraid to get down and get his hands dirty. He still grieves the loss of his wife but is every thankful his kids still live.

History: John and Sean Williams brothers 3 years apart grew up with Jase Cartwright. Their parents being one a geneticist and the other a doctor, much the same as with Jase's parents. He began his medical education when he turned 18 years, and at 21 one he was chosen to join his parents to settle on the planet of Pern. Life there was different but he settled in easily and found himself married at 25 years of age to Madeline Watson, a lovely woman with a keen sense of humor. He loved her dearly, and when he was 26 when they welcomed their first child into the world a boy named Ryan. One year later his wife had a little girl she named Adele. It was shortly after Adele's birth he was invited to the first Firelizard hatching, to which he impressed a green he named Reiga. At 28 years old the horror known as Thread came to be known to them, and in one of its first tragic attacks on the new colonies, he lost his wife as she tried to find him and the children. On that fateful day, John was alerted to danger by his firelizard, and he picked up the kids early and tookshelter in the metal and stone building of the school whilst Thread fell. Devastated, he pulled himself together for the sake of his children, but has felt as if he had a hole in his life since his family's terrible loss.

More recently, dramatic events have unfolded in John's life that have eased his feeling of loss. Encouraged by the geneticists, he agreed to stand upon the sands for the first hatching and surprised friends and family by impressing brown Ranth. A solid dragon for a solid man, Ranth cannot take away all the pain of loosing his wife, but he fulfills the need of a partner in life. Since impression of the sturdy little brown, John has never felt alone in the world or in his duties, as a doctor, dragonrider, or father, again.

Detailed Personality and Description

In the far distant future, a Rider might look at young Ranth and point him out as the forerunner of the quintessential Brown. Steadfast, serious, and loyal, he is an extremely capable partner to John and looks forward to taking up his adult responsibilities. Though his coloring is perhaps a bit light for what will eventually become the 'classic brown,' his sturdy frame and erect, confident carriage hints at what is yet to come. His growth chart could read as a 'Guide to Dragon Growth' at this time, as he will be right on the mark development wise until reaching his eventual 15 feet in length.

For a dragon he is a delicate eater, and hardly needed John's urgings to moderation even as a brand new hatchling. He is cleanly as well, but without much of a love of lounging or wallowing in water. His bathing is like everything else he does- efficient. He has an above normal love of eye ridge and neck ridge scratching, however, and is by far at his most compromised and almost (but never quite) 'goofy' when receiving them. He also tolerates John's two children nicely, and while he doesn't actually speak directly to them he does often send them messages through John, indicating that they are important enough to be worthy of his attention.



Impression Post
At the opposite end of the scale there was the newly hatched brown, bleached tan in colour he was not to be confused for anything but a brown though. Eagerly he crooned greeting to everyone before he headed straight for the doctor near the side lines. With loving eyes, he knew exactly who he wanted as he spoke.

'Ranth I am called. It's a pleasure to meet you John, is there anyone needing out assistance?'

There was silence from the man for a while, but soon a grin spread across his face and he had a bucket and was feeding his new found partner.

Description: Reiga is a mottled green of the undergrowth, with splotches of brown tarnishing her otherwise camoflauge green hide. She is slender and nimble and quite small for her colour, the smallest of those hatched so far.

Personality: Reiga is reliable and hardly the twit people thing her to be with her engergy. However she does like to lay her eggs in unfindable places, to date John has not found a single one of her clutches. She is a good messenger and will protect John and the children with her life, she is also very loyal to John.

Perhaps due to this extreme loyalty and the close relationship, Reiga was at first somewhat ambivalent about the sudden presence of brown Ranth in their lives. I a very short time, however, she had accepted him as not only a part of the family, but as a very useful one in helping her shepherd them into acting sensibly. She is often with Ranth, and the brown has a knack for making her telepathic broadcastings even more clearly understandable to John.
