The fun after the storm. (Adam)

IC Time: Month 8 mid winter, just after lunch.
IC Setting: A snowy blanket covers the ground that is pretty deep and the sun is out but it is still pretty cold. Not that far from any buildings.

Ayana had been rather depressed lately. Three hatchings had come and gone. THREE! And she had not impressed a dragon or one of the whers. That upset her and made her feel useless. Spring was on her shouldre after being fed and kept rubbing her head on Ayana's cheek. Ayana looked at her little green firelizard and wished she had a dragon. She was happy that Malcolm had impressed a brown, she had not had a chance to meet the brown yet though. She was going to have to see Malcolm again.

"Well Spring. What do we do now with all this nice snow on the ground?" Ayana new what she was going to do and laughed slightly. She just left herself slipp mentaly and she leaned back a bit and let herself just fall into the snow. Starled Spring took flight and watched what her bonded was doing then dove into the snow herself.

"Hey!" Ayana squealed as the cold snow hit her face. Then she realized she could feel the snow slightly through her jacket. "Nice one Spring." Ayana complimented her small green lizard as Spring popped her head out of the snow pile she made. A small pile oF fluff stayed on the green's head.

Ayana then busrt out laughing, the snow always seemed to change her when it fell.

Adam had staked himself in the snow drifts since just after lunch, waiting for the perfect victim. He'd been about to miss her, too, but one of the small native lizards the dragons were based on appeared and then vanished through the snow. Hearing a female voice, the young man turned around, crouching on his knees. Palming some snow in one ungloved hand, he squinted at his target.

Recognizing the woman as Ayana, a former fellow candidate, Adam jumped up and heaved his snowball through the air. Giving a rather wild bellow as he charged, running knee deep in the white fluff, he picked up more snow and went to hug her and squish it in her hair and down her back. Laughing breathlessly, Adam grinned, "Hey, Ayana! At least, that's your name? Right?"

"How else would it be?" Ayana squealed as she felt the cold snow go down her back and her front as some of the fluff on her hair fell. Ayana started to wriggle in his grasp as more of the snow went down her sweater that she had not had the chance to zip up.

"That is cold!" Ayana said as she wriggled some more, only making it worse. "You are so going to get it Adam!" Ayana called out as she finally wriggled one arm free and gathered the snow close to her so that it was in her hand and she stuffed it all down Adam's back with a laugh. Spring was flying around trying to figure out what to do since her bonded was in trouble so the green lizard did what hers was doing. The lizard grabbed some snow in her claws and landed on Adam's head forcing the snow into his hair.

"You are surrounded!" Ayana laughed.

Adam laughed heartily as he kept his opponent in his grasp, not caring about the bits of fluffy white snow gracing his shoulders and shocking red hair. When she finally got her arm free, he knew he was in for it, but the young man didn't care. Going for one more handful in retaliation, he submitted to Ayana and her flitter's snowy punishment.

Feeling it melt as it dripped down his collar, he shivered. Adam took his handful of snow and crushed it somewhat gently into Ayana's face. "Hahahaha, there!" Dancing away from her he shifted from side to side and foot to foot. He looked quite like a playful puppy that wagged its behind back and forth in play. "Have at me if you want more of that!" he cried, laughing and challenging.

Ayana felt him shiver as the snow did it's job but then she whited out as snow was pushedinto her face. Then her prey was gone, and she could not see. She shook her head and used a clenched fist to try and remove the snow from her eyes. She had to let out a little mouse squeal as the snow fell down her shirt and melted.

Ayana looked up and saw how Adam was moving. Her eyes seemed to lock in on her target, a habit that any fighter had. She watched him like she was a cat about to pounce on a mouse but it was rather hard to tell because it did not take her long to adjust to the new situation. She just had to remember to be gentle.... ish.

With that she seemed to dance around him as he called out his challenge.

"I think I shall." Ayana said with a smile, a small one though that was challenging in it's own way. She was different when it can to a fight or a mock fight. In a real fight she became more like a wolf, and in a mock fight more like a cat. She kept dancing around him, barely touching the ground. Then she stopped suddenly and it looked like she slipped but her legs went safely under her as she tackled him, just like a cat on a mouse, but only a human on a human.

"this cat is not that easy to shake off!" Ayana taunted with a laugh. This was the most fun that she had had in a long while. She actually completely forgotten that after three hatchings she still had not impressed.
