IC MONTH: Late Winter of 10 AL
IC SETTING: Noon Dining Hall

Kira
Kira along with Kagemusha and Ryoushi heralded the six two month old wolf pups into the dining hall. It was lunch time and the place was packed as usual. Today was the first time that the pups will be introduced to more people other than herself and those people that had been there when they were born. Ryoushi had been rather too motherly and territorial regarding her pups and didn't make them leave her sight for too long. So, for the most part of the past two months, Ryoushi and her pups primarily stayed inside Kira's quarters. Once in a while, Ryoushi left the pups under Kagemusha's watch as Ryoushi went out to hunt. However, Kira more often than not brought enough food for everybody from the Dining Hall to save Ryoushi the trouble of having to go outside to hunt and leaving her pups.

Once inside the Dining Hall, the pups were looking about, sniffing at the odors that assailed their noses, their ears perked up at the sounds that assailed their ears, some with tails wagging as they thought that this was a new place to explore. However, for the moment, the pups were behaving as they followed after their mother who was following after Kira, but anyone could see that the pups were just itching to go and explore and get to know those that were currently dining in the Dining Hall.

Kira got in line for the buffet table where the food was always arrayed. She got herself a plate and piled it with food. Getting a large tray, she took a small bowl of meat scraps for Kagemusha, a large bowl of chopped meat for Ryoushi, and three medium bowls of chopped meat for the pups. Picking a table, Kira sat and settled her tray with her plate and the bowls of meat on the table. Taking the large bowl, Kira set it in front of Ryoushi. The first of the medium bowl with chopped meat in it went to White-Fur and Black-Fur. The second medium bowl with chopped meat in it went to Cornsilk-Fur and Gray-Fur. The last of the medium bowls with chopped meat in it went to Brown-Fur and Green-Eyes. Their mother Ryoushi still called them by those names so they still referred to themselves by their baby names.

When all Ryoushi and her pups were finally eating, Kira sat down and began eating her own lunch. Kagemusha silent as ever, hopped down from his perch on Kira's shoulder to eat the meat scraps that were in the small bowl still on the table on the tray beside Kira's plate. Kira paused in her eating and looked down at the pups. She wondered what she was supposed to do with 6 rather talkative wolf pups. Then she shook her head as she reminded herself that no, they aren't wolf pups but Wolven pups. Apparently, the pups don't see themselves as wolves and have began calling themselves as Wolven.

[OOC: Okay, since I didn't get time to make the Wolven interact with the other characters first, this post will make them interact with those eating in the Dining Hall and possibly choosing a Bond from among the folk in there. They are chatty, curious, and might ask very personal questions. It is up to you whether you want your character to answer the question or not. Ryoushi might also give the Wolven their adolescent names but, who knows. *shrugs*]

Taminy walked into the Dining Hall feeling satisfied. He'd just gotten his own quarters in the Living Quarters; he and Alexander had talked about it before, and decided that because Taminy was now an adult he should have his own rooms. They were still close to his relative's quarters, but it was his own space. For the first time, his very own space. Taminy viewed it as a big experience; he was finally living alone....Well, with Terry, of course, but that was it. It was pretty neat....The big moment that made him feel like an adult, he supposed. Though he was probably making too much of a big deal about it in his own head; he couldn't help it.

But regardless....It was lunchtime, and he was hungry. For once Terry wasn't on his shoulder; the green was sleeping off the morning she'd spent in endless play with other firelizards. Taminy was alone with his thoughts, and he let the mstray; they landed on his writing, as they often did when he had nothing else at the moment to think about. Lately his writing had mainly consisted of poems - poems of change, of good times, of new experiences. Of dragons, of seasons, of anything that came to him. Not all of them were good; of all his works, only some stood out in Taminy's mind, while others faded into the background of many other works, passable but of no real consequence. He didn't throw out these, though; he kept them all, stored away for the days when he should want to look back at them.

It had been a while since he'd worked on any stories; the poetry aspect had been dominating the past several months. Taminy found that he wanted to write more in the way of stories again; it had been too long. And in fact the makings of an idea had been lurking a the edges of his thoughts for the past few hours, and he knew that if he relaxed and let it, it would come to him. So, as he waited in line at the buffet table - it was lunchtime and there was a throng of people gathered - he let the ideas blossom, merging and melting into one another until a plot line started to form in his head.

Of course he never knew what would happen; what fun would writing be if it were all planned out? But the basic shape came to him, and by the time he got his food and sat down at the nearest table available, he knew what he was going to do. It was the classic tale, including all the necessary elements for a good story: a love, found and lost and found again; a secret, dark and long-buried but forced to come to the surface; a betrayal, hot and dark and full of pain; and above all, the danger, the dark force that the secret, the betrayal, and even the love had all helped to make.

The excitement, the need to write it down now that he had thought of it, prompted Taminy to take out the omnipresent notepad from his pocket along with the simultaneously inevitable pencil, and began to write, first outlining the story, then starting. At first he ate and wrote at intervals, but by the time he began the first chapter his half-eaten tray of food lay forgotten.

Secrets....having a secret can be like walking across a minefield; you never know when you'll take a wrong step, and it will blow up in your face. Sometimes the scenery can give you a false sense of security, make the prospect seem easier, distract from the fact that you are walking over a bomb ready to explode, and any false step could be your end. But beware when the beauty makes you forget completely where you are; beware the day you forget you are in a minefield! Forgotten secrets are all the more dangerous for having been forgotten; I should know.

So wrote his pencil as his hand skittered across the paper, his small, spidery letters soon filling the first page, and then the next. So immersed was he that he forgot the world around him; it was only when he'd finished the second chapter that he looked up, and then only because of the dull ache of his right hand. And still he surfaced slowly, unwilling to leave the new world he was creating in his own mind. He was happy, though; he'd half-forgotten the thrill of writing, for there was a difference between poetry and story-writing that was subtle and vast at the same time. Taminy put his pencil down finally, blinking owlishly at the room around him.

The definitely non-human snuffles and occasional yips made the writer look over to his left, and he saw in surprise seven four-legged figures rapidly staging the disappearance of several bowls of meat. He recognized them with a start as the very same wolf puppies he'd watched being born several months ago - well, six of them; the seventh was the mother, looking hale and hearty. He remembered well that night he'd watched them being born; it had been a most odd experience. He still didn't know what on Pern they were, but they weren't normal wolf puppies, that was for sure; that night he'd heard them speak in his head as a dragon did! It perplexed him to this day, as nobody had told him or the others who had viewed them why they did so. He could even still remember the names they had used to speak to each other...though those names were simple enough to be easy to remember. The color of their fur - or, in one case, the color of the eyes.

He was glad to see they all looked healthy, and so did the wolf mother's master....what was her name? He couldn't really recall at the moment; Ki-something. For a moment he thought he should go over and ask her how the puppies were, but a squirm of nervousness in his stomach stopped him; he was never really the most sociable person, and he figured she probably didn't remember him anyway....He didn't want to look like a fool. But at the same time he was curious, and it seemed almost rude not to at least ask.....If only to him; nobody else would know, but it would nag at him. Undecided, he ended up merely staring curiously at the pups, without realizing he was doing so; it was a habit of his.

Cornsilk-Fur
The first to finish eating was of course, Cornsilk-Fur. She looked at her younger brothers and sisters all still eating their share of food. But, with her hunger satisfied for the moment, she was curious with her surrounding. She looked about at the strangers that were also eating their lunch just like Mother's friend, Kira, is. And as she looked around, she noticed someone looking at their direction, with a look at her mother silently asking permission to go explore and get to know others, she headed towards the young man.

Cornsilk-Fur silently padded towards the young man would have noticed her approach by now. When she was near, she hopped on an empty chair opposite him and sat. She looked at him, her head cocked to the left and she looked at his forgotten lunch and the notebook on the table. Looking back at the man, she asked, What are you doing? curiosity coloring her tone of voice.

Claudia, being followed by Kipper and Sushi, went to get some lunch. It had been a really slow day for her and the break was a big welcome. Has she walked in she immediately noticed the little wolven pups, as she had heard them being called. They weren't regular wolves that was a fact. Claudia had been in shock when she heard them talking the night they were born. That had been something amazing.

They were so cute and charming. She stood in line for the food, her two blues chirping excitedly and looking at the puppies. Claudia got her food and some scraps for Kipper and Sushi, then looked for a place to sit. They ate in silence, all three of them watching the puppies. The blues got done with their food first and before Claudia could stop them, they flew over closer to the puppies. "Hey! Get back here!" She yelled at them to no avail. She had to get up and follow them to the table where Kira was sitting.

"I'm sorry about them." She said as she scooped up the two blues. "They're just very interested in the puppies. It's good to see them well and happy though."

Kira
Kira looked up from her plate. She gave a smile as she tried to remember if she knew the woman in front of her or not. Looking instead at the two flits, Kira said, "Um, no that's fine. I don't mind. And they will behave." as she looked down at Brown-Fur who had barked and tried to pounce on one of the flits. He seemed to be ready to chase after the two flits. "Actually, I should apologize if Brown-Fur scares your firelizards." Kira said to the woman.

Brown-Fur
One of the puppies, Brown-Fur noticed the two firelizards and with an excited bark and a playful pouncing as he tried to get one of the firelizards in between his paws, he said towards the blue firelizards, Hello! Want to play chase? his tail wagging in excitement. He had stood up ready to chase after the flying flits if they so much as gave him the go ahead.

Avalon was alone for the moment, her stomach was quite swelled and it wasn't long till her babies would be born. Beautiful twins they were and it hadn't been long since she had inherited Artemis' two beautiful twins Romulus and Remus. Her sister had been foolish, then again no one knew that a simple thing as sex to put it bluntly would cause such a horrendous reaction. However it had and Caldera had been put into mourning for another of their dragons riders, and the geneticists were all the more wary. She was up here with the boys trying to help them get before she moved them back to the farm, however this had become somewhat problematic being so far from Morgen for so long, even though her brother had been between here and the farm helping them both it hadn't helped.

Today the twins were with Arturius, he had told her to get down to the dining caverns for a proper meal as she had two other people to take care of and he didn't want her getting sick. So here she was with what had to be the weirdest thing she had ever eaten in her life, however to her it tasted good and didn't make her sick and as such.. she was somewhat content though still a little saddened at her sister's death, but as they had never been overly close she found it hard to mourn.

Green-Eyes
Green-Eyes saw the woman with an overly large belly. Curious she padded over to the woman her silent footsteps meant that the woman didn't remark her approach unless the woman had actually seen her walking towards her. But she was silent of foot as she stopped beside the woman with the large belly and asked, What's wrong with your belly? I don't remember them being that large. as Green-Eyes waited sitting on her haunches beside the woman. Green-Eyes remembered seeing the woman if only at a glance and her scent was familiar. However, the woman didn't have a belly quite as big as she did now.

Avalon smiled softly at the voice in her head and turned to see the beautiful little pup with green eyes, she remembered her well from the birthing she'd never seen a pup with such bright clear green eyes. Turning herself if a little awkwardly she reached down and rubbed her hand through the fur of the little pup, her other hand resting on her belly.

"That's because I have babies growing in there. Two babies."

Her voice was soft and gentle, as her hand ran through the soft fur beneath it.

Claudia waved off her concern. "Please, I don't think thread itself could really scare these two." She was right for both of them, Kipper mainly, started chirping and trilling at Brown-Fur. Of course they didn't understand what the little pup was saying, but from what they could get from him he wanted to play. Playing sounded like fun.

Claudia heard what Brown-Fur said and looked to her two blues. "You two play nice, you hear? I don't want you hurting the sweet puppy." She said smiling at the little wolven. With an acknowledging chirp they flew away from Brown-Fur, encouraging him to chase them.

Taminy stared curiously at the wolf-pups-that-weren't, thinking. He found himself intensely curious about them; what were they? They had been born from what was, as far as he could tell, a completely normal wolf....But they'd veen intelligent and aware even from the moment they'd entered the world, so like the dragons he'd watched hatch from the Stands that one day, and, also like the dragons.....they could speak. Speak and speak well, in fluent English, into peoples' minds, just as the dragons were supposed to be able to.

Were they another Geneticist project? The thought crossed his mind, and he had to admit it deserved some considering. Some of their traits that he'd percieved from that one meeting seemed so much like the dragons.....It was possible, but what did he know? He had no part in it anyway; part of him wanted to continue on his story, but he couldn't pull him mind away from the strange pups.

Thoughhis gaze had been directed at the pups, he'd really started staring off into space as his mind wandered; a flash of movement brought him back to the present, and he saw one of the pups striding away from its siblings - and coming in his direction. He regarded it with surprise and curiosity, wondering where it was going. He could see that its fur was a beautiful cornsilk cream color, with a light grey bit going down her spine, and her intelligent eyes were a yellowish amber. Oh, yes, he remembered this one from the birthing; the very first that hatched, went by the name of Cornsilk-Fur.

To his startled amazement she came right up to him, and hopped up onto a chair next to him as if she owned the place. She was very cute, a charming little creature; her thick creamy fur made him want to stroke her. He was startled when she spoke to him; it was the oddest sensation, of not just a voice but a glimpse of another being in your mind, just like the last time six months ago. No dragoins had ever spoken to Taminy, but he imagined this was what it must feel like; it was unnerving, but there was a quality about it that he liked as well.

He did not know why Cornsilk-Fur had chosen to come over and speak to him, but he was glad she did; she was a cute little thing, and any chance to talk to one of these mysterious wonders was a chance that should be taken advantage of. "Oh...Cornsilk-Fur," he managed to get out. It may have been a simple name, he reflected, but it was a pretty one nevertheless. What was he doing?

It felt very odd, explaining something to a pup, an animal that should by natural rights not be able to understand him at all, but he did so anyway. Still slightly stunned but warming quickly to the situation, he gestured to his notepad. "I'm writing....writing a story. " Then his gaze fell on his by-now-cold lunch. "And supposed to be eating lucnh....But I kind of forgot about it."

"Come on, Cheza. It's Mezzo's turn to sleep." Anka squatted to rub the young dog behind the ears. Cheza tilted her head and whined. Anka sighed. "Fine, we can play later. First, though, I need some food." With a quick slap of her thigh, Cheza was tight against her as she began the winding way required for a meal. It certainly was unfortunate that she had to be so far away in order to care for the llamas properly... Still, living on the outer edge did have its perks.

And then she also missed out on all the news. As soon as she entered, Cheza started whining again. It didn't take long for Anka to see the cause: those wolf-like pups whose birth Frill had called her to were out socializing. "Behave yourself," she quietly warned her dog. "They might like to play, but not without permission. Quiet." Reprimanded, Cheza reluctantly fell silent, though she continued to stare at the younger canines.

Anka circled around to collect a hearty plateful from the table and then slowly angled her way over to near where the young wolven pups were. As soon as her owner sat, Cheza curled up by her feet and eagerly watched them. The social tension quivering through her every nerve was quite obvious - she was literally shaking - and occasionally a soft, hopefully whine would slip out and she would glance up quickly. Other than that, though, she completely ignored her feeding owner in favour of the oh-so-interesting possible-friends.

Green-Eyes
Oh, that's wonderful to hear. Green-Eyes said with a bark of laughter. She thumped her tail on the ground as she enjoyed the scratch that the woman gave on her head. But then, Green-Eyes added, But, only two? Are you sure you are alright? My mother gave birth to six of us. with a bit of worry in her tone as she eyed the woman's belly.

Brown-Fur
When the blue flits flew off, Brown-Fur gave chase. He didn't mind if he suddenly passed anyone who had been about to take a step and had to divert themselves or stop mid-way else they would have stepped on him. He was a blur of speed as he happily chased the flying flits. However, just in case the flits decided to fly over tables, Brown-Fur called out to them, No flying over tables. I don't want to go sneaking under people's feet. People nearby heard his voice in their mind as he passed by them while he talked as he chassed after the flits.

Cornsilk-Fur
Cornsilk-Fur nodded her head as she heard the man say her name. Hmm... I don't remember giving you my name. But I applaud you for remembering it. I presume you were at our birthing? Cornsilk-Fur asked. But then she continued with, What kind of story are you writing? After a pause, she added, Oh, and if you don't want your lunch, may I eat it instead? Or, you would rather want a fresh plate of food, you could go back in line for lunch and I'll stay here and guard your notebook. Cornsilk-Fur suggested to the man.

Gray-Fur
Gray-Fur was the most silent one among the Wolven but she was also a very curious pup in her own way. She had noticed the canine and looking at her mother for permission, she went towards the canine since she had heard the canine whining a bit earlier. She stopped a feet or so from the canine and its owner. With a soft voice, she said to the canine, Hello. I'm Gray-fur. What's your name? not realizing that other canines cannot talk like she and her siblings can.

Avalon chuckled softly at Green-eyes' question and she continued scratching the little ones head, still entranced by the gorgeous green eyes of the little pup.

"Oh no dear heart. I'm just fine, us humans don't normally have more than one at a time. Though sometimes we do. It's just not as common as it is with you mother"

She explained with a soft smile, one thing pregnancy and marriage had done had mellowed her a little and she was calmer, however when Morgen was around she was liable to teasing she was not quite the daredevil she used to be.

Taminy had to smile at Cornsilk-Fur, out of a combination of wonder and pleasure; she was a charming thing, and her fluent English still amazed him. Even humans didn't normally start speaking like that until they were at least a decade old; she spoke with all the manner of an adult. The presence of her in his mind - not just her voice, but a little bit of her being, every time she spoke - was an odd, startling thing to bear, but with each word Taminy felt himself growing used to it, as strange as it was. Still, what an odd way of communicating - he speaking to her out loud, she merely reaching out to his mind.

Remembering that he needed to answer the pup, he did so. "Yes....I was. My firelizard, Terry, led me to it. I remember that you were the first-born, too."

He barely had time to get that out before she was talking again, this time asking what kind of story it was. For a moment Taminy hesitated, really not sure how on Pern he could describe it; Taminy was terrible at summarizing his stories into anything short and manageable even to adult humans; trying to do so to 6-month-old Cornsilk-Fur, no matter how intelligent she seemed, was more difficult. "It's a story....about two people in love." he finally said. "But one of them is keeping a secret from the other, and betrays him because of it. And that leads to something very dangerous happening, that they have to fight their way out of." He only hoped she understood all that well enough. How was a young puppy supposed to know about love and betrayal, anyway?

The talkative pup had turned her attention now to his lunch, asking if she could have it then offering to guard his notepad for him if he wanted more. He was surprised at her generous offer ,and blinked at her. "Thank you, Cornsilk-Fur....but I think I'm finished with lunch for now; of course you can have it." He pushed the tray over so that it was within her reach, moving his notepad out of the way to do so.

Green-Eyes
It is? Then if you wanted a big family, that must mean you would have to be in labor a lot of times. Now I kind of feel bad for you. Will it hurt when they finally decide to come out of your womb? My mother hurt when we decided to come out of her womb, not that we wanted to hurt her, but she did. It is just that, it had been time for us to come out since it had been getting rather cramped in there you know. Green-Eyes said. Then, she stopped speaking as she stared at the pregnant woman. One could see that Green-Eyes was thinking and contemplating something. Of what, no one would know until Green-Eyes spoke of it.

However, after a few minutes of looking at the pregnant woman, Green-Eyes asked, What's your name? Here I am talking to you but I don't even know your name. Please forgive my rudeness. I am Green-Eyes if you didn't know already.

Cornsilk-Fur
Cornsilk-Fur just nodded as the man answered that he had been there are her birth. Then she cocked her head to the right as she listed to the man try to explain what he had been writing about. It sounded interesting but being still too young, she wasn't really understanding the intricacies of relationships just yet. And when the man had said that it was okay for her to eat his leftovers, she said, Thank you. I have always wanted to try human food. Eating raw meat can become tiresome. as she sampled some of the food. Hmm... this actually tastes delicious. Maybe I'll start eating human food. Mother insists that since we are wolves, we must hunt our food. But ugh, I hate having to kill for my food. All that blood dripping onto my beautiful fur is not something I want to do. she said with a shudder.

After a pause, she changed subjects and asked, Do you like to write stories like the one you are working on? Have you ever written anything about wolves? as she finished the last of the food on the plate. The plate had been licked clean. If no one knew that there had been food on the plate before, someone might have used the plate for their use not knowing that it was actually a dirty plate since it had been already used and hadn't been washed yet.

"It's okay sweetheart, the pain is something we must all endure for the sake of our children. I do not mind if it hurts at all, as long as they are born healthy I will be happy."

Avalon found herself comtemplating what she just said, was she really that much of a mother already that she was thinking that way. Not that she minded, it's just she never thought she would be one to say those words, then again she hadn't expected to get married either.

"Green-eyes. That's a beautiful name. I'm Avalon Knig... Remington. You can call me Ava if it's easier"

She stumbled for a moment on her own name, it was still taking some time getting used to, having the same name as he, the man she loved dearly with all her heard. It was taking time but she liked it, it had a ring to it she and of course Granny too liked.

Green-Eyes
I guess it is beautiful since my name is somewhat unique to my other siblings. But still, it is just my baby name. Mother hasn't given us our adolescent names yet. Green-Eyes said with a shrug of her shoulders in regards to her name.

Your name sounds beautiful though. Avalon... I wish I could have a name a beautiful as yours. Green-Eyes added with a sigh.

Ryoushi
Ryoushi who had finally finished her lunch noticed that her children were not with her. Looking about, she saw them mingling with other humans. She barked to get their attention and silently ordered them to come to her. She was finally ready to give some of them their adolescent names.

Green-Eyes
Green-Eyes looked back as she heard her mother call for her and the others that had wandered away from mother. With a regretful sigh, she excused herself from the woman. Well, mother is calling for me and the others. Maybe she'll finally give me my adolescent name. Anyways, I have to go. And with that, Green-Eyes stood up and walked back towards where her mother waited.

Avalon gave Green-eyes a final rub as the little one left leaving a small smile for the pup as she softly spoke to her as she walked away, leaving Avalon with her meal and alone again but for the activity of her twins in her stomach that made her chuckle softly.

"I'm sure you will sweet. You'll have a very beautiful name."

Taminy watched Cornsilk-Fur with interest as she ate his leftover food; raw meat got tiresome to wolves? Now that was something he hadn't imagined before. Not that he'd ever thought about wolves much, either, but still. She seemed to like it, gaining speed as she plowed through it. Well, this one's got an appetite, he thought to himself, amused, as he remembered she'd already been eating with her siblings before coming over here.

He refleted that she hadn't really had anything to say about his story; he must have beenright....how could one so young understand such things? Then he realized with a jolt that he'd almost started thinking of Cornsilk-Fur in human terms. But she was very human....much more so than wolf-like, if you thought about it. She could speak like a human (if only in mids) and acted more like a human than a wolf, not keeping to her 'pack' so to speak but venturing out with a human's natural inquisitive instincts.

Definitely not normal.

And according to her proclamation, she didn't even like to hunt for herself, something wolves had to do to survive, in the wild at least. But he had to close his eyes when she mentioned killing and blood; suddenly relating to that wasn't hard at all. He knew he certainly wouldn't be able to stand killing anything - he was no hunter. He supposed he would if it were the difference between life and death, but otherwise.....Anyway. Cornsilk-Fur remarked that she didn't like the blood on her fur, and his lips twitched; vain little thing, but she was right: that cornsilk-colored coat was beautiful.

"Well, I wouldn't want to hunt for my food, either," he answered honestly. "I'm glad you like it though." She changed the subject after a moment, reverting back to his writing. "I love to write stories, like this and....well, about anything really," he admitted with a soft smile. Ever since he'd first started keeping a journal, so he could write down his experiences on Pern, he'd loved to write. It had only taken a small amount of time to discover it.....And after that, well, nobody had been able to separate him from his notebook.

"Wolf stories?" He shook his head, frowning consideringly. "I've never written about wolves, no. But maybe I should." He cocked his head and smiled. "You've given me a new idea, Cornsilk-Fur. Thank you." Just then a sharp bark made them look around, and he saw Ryoushi looking in their direction. "I think your mother wants you," he guessed. "It was amazing talking to you, Cornsilk-Fur."

Cheza's ears shot up as high as they could go, considering their floppiness, and she sneakily crawled out from beneath her owner. She gave a little playful bark as Anka blinked and twisted around.

"Oh, hello!" Anka said cheerfully. This was one of those pups... She had heard them announce their names when they were born, which one was this? Ah. Gray-fur. When Cheza suddenly stood, glancing back momentarily, she laughed. "Oh, Cheza. If she wants to play, go ahead." Remembering the wolf-like pup's intelligence, she addressed Gray-fur. "This is Cheza. I'm afraid she's not quite so smart, and she doesn't really talk except in barks." She patted the shepherd's back. "She would love to play with you, though, if you'd like."

Cornsilk-Fur
Cornsilk-Fur would have like to talk more with this young man but Mother was calling for her... well, for them really as she realized that a few of her other brothers and sisters were mingling with the other humans. With a regretful sigh she said, Yes, Mother is indeed calling for me... well, for us really. It has been nice talking to you. as she hopped down the chair that she had occupied and jogged back to where her mother was waiting for her and her siblings.

Gray-Fur
Gray-Fur's ears sagged down a bit in disappointment when she learned that the canine she had been talking to couldn't talk back like she did. She looked up at the human woman who had talked for the canine who Gray-Fur learned was called Cheza by the human. She doesn't talk? Then how do you know what she's telling you? Gray-Fur asked. However, Gray-Fur didn't really give the other human a chance to reply when she continued with, But don't worry, I should be able understand her. My Mother doesn't talk like we do also. Mother talks through her barks, her howls, and her body language. Gray-Fur said.

And just as Gray-Fur finished talking, she heard her mother bark and looking back, read the silent command to come back. Gray-Fur felt crestfallen, she had really wanted to play with the other canine, Cheza. With a regretful sigh, she said to the human, Mother is calling us back now. Then to Cheza, she said, I'm really sorry Cheza. I really wanted to play with you, but Mother is calling. Gray-Fur hoped that Cheza would understand and with a sad look at the dog and at the human who owned the dog, she slowly walked back towards where her mother waited for her and the others.

Ryoushi
When most of her offspring was with her once more, she looked at each one carefully. They were not to know that Ryoushi was contemplating on what adolescent name to give them. However, noticing that Brown-Fur was not yet present, she looked for him and found him chasing after firelizards. With a short bark-howl, she silently commanded Brown-Fur to stop with his playing and come attend her. Ryoushi waited silently for Brown-Fur to arrive as she once more eyed her offspring.

At the moment, she was looking very intently at Green-Eyes. Green-Eyes fidgeted a bit under her Mother's intense scrutiny. After a few minutes of silent scrutiny, Ryoushi sniffed at her sixthborn and in so doing gave Green-Eyes her adolescent name which was to be Curious-Like-A-Cat. After that Ryoushi now was intensely looking at Cornsilk-Fur.

Curious-Like-A-Cat
Green-Eyes... scratch that, she needed to start thinking of herself as Curious-Like-A-Cat. After being given her adolescent name, she wondered if she really was a curious Wolfen. After a while of contemplation, she nodded in agreement for she really had been a very curious Wolfen. Maybe even too curious. However, for now, she waited where she was wondering what new name Mother was going to give the others.

Claudia watched in almost embarrassment as her two dragonets stared off on a course that made Brown-Fur chase after them through people's paths. "Hey you two, watch where you are flying. I'm so sorry." Claudia yelled at her blues and then said to Kira.

Kipper and Sushi heard their master and the puppy chasing them. They decided to ignore Claudia, but they listened to Brown-Fur and didn't fly over tables. Out of courtesy to others they did divert their course to a less crowded area. The whole time chirping and trilling excitedly.

Morgen

How long had it been since he'd seen his wife?

A day, maybe two? Morgen wasn't really sure, but shells... it seemed like an eternity. The farm had kept him so busy, and he'd managed to convince Avalon to stay up at the Caldera and help with the twins... well, their twins now. After Artemis's death, he'd been more than willing to adopt his nephews... After all, it already seemed like they were his, with all the time they spent with him and Avalon.

The seperation was about to be relieved, though, because Art had pointed him in the direction of the Dining Cavern when Morgen had finally come thundering into the Caldera on Emrys. Everything back home was settled, at least for the moment, and Morgen just wanted to look at Avalon, if only to reassure himself she was okay, that their unborn children were okay. Striding down through the entrance, when Morgen finally caught sight of her he stopped, his breath caught in his throat.

Gods, she was beautiful. How could someone glow like that? Once again, Morgen thanked his lucky stars for the encounter with Marc, because he had a suspicion that their relationship never would have turned this direction had it not been for that near death experience. After his eyes had drunk in the sight of her like a dying man, Morgen began to notice the others, his attention falling on Kira.

That girl was really something, he mused, as he watched her with a father's pride. Those wolf puppies were interesting as well, and he grinned as he noted their growth. They all looked fat, happy, and healthy, and that was all anyone could ask. Once he'd scanned over the rest of the crowd and politely nodded when one locked eyes with him, he began walking over to Avalon. With a smile as wide as the Caldera itself, he hauled her up from her seat and hugged her tightly, making slight arrangements for her swollen stomach. It was pure heaven for him to be able to hold her again, and he didn't even care about the looks they were getting.

Finally, although he was reluctant to release her, Morgen loosened his hold and gently pushed her back, keeping his hands on her shoulders once she was in a standing position.

"I've missed you, love."

"I've missed you, love."

Those words and the tight comforting arms of her husband around her brightened her mood. She had been feeling a little depressed earlier, now.. it seemed like the past with him here. She tip toed up to press her lips to his in a long resounding and passionate kiss, her arms winding around his neck to hold him firm as she did. She stepped closer to him, as close as her belly would allow, she didn't mind the inconvenieces it called but she knew it wouldn't be long till the twins were here and she still had so much to do. She just hoped that she would have more done by the time they decided to make their arrival. As they parted from the kiss she remained in his arms, a smile wide as Therma Lake itself plastered on her face, looking almost comically silly with it's slightly cheeky tilt to it.

"Missed you too dear."

Sonja stood in the shadows with her blue firelizard, Bells, on her shoulder. She had come to see the new wolven pups or what looked to be wolf puppies. She wasn't to sure to on the one with green eyes though. Her greyish-blue watched each puppy wondering what it was like to talk and touch them. She looked around the room wondering if Sera was around to see them as well.

Bells chirped and nuzzled his bonded and looked at the strange pups that were walking around exploring the place. He tilted his head and trilled to them as he wrapped his tail around his's neck and leaned forward to see them better. Cute! is what he said with a draconic grin.

Sonja laughed softly and patted Bells on the head before turnning her attention to the other people. She watched carefully as the wolven walked to different people. She wondered what drew them to the people but she frigured it was just cause they were pups then again she wasn't sure about it at all.
