Isn't it Ironic? [Open, Senior Riders]

IC Month: Month 13/Early Summer
IC Setting: Hot and Humid, with clear skies but a light cool wind. Mid afternoon.

He had no more reasons to fear being alone anymore, in fact Jase seemed to even be content with sitting in his quarters alone. Rikath was a constant presence in his mind and as such never felt alone. He was out on the ledge with Rikath, both of them enjoying a nap in the sun, just soaking it all up. Jase was almost asleep leaning against Rikath, her warm hide and breathing a good source of comfort for him, not to mention she was better than an umbrella, more than happy to shield him from the sun if he got to hot with her wing.

'Jase.. You know it's okay with me if you want to be with someone'

That got his attention, her sweet as wine, soft as cherry blossoms voice caressed his mind with their thoughts. His eyes peered open almost as if he didn't quite get what was going on with her. What in tarnations was she talking about? ... then it hit him.. Oh.. she was talking about THAT.. well..

"You won't freak out and disappear like Surath?"

'Darling, he was too young. He didn't understand those feelings and they frightened him. That's why he disappeared. We're old enough now, you don't need to worry so.'

"How can you be so sure? I mean we've already lost two already, we can't afford anymore."

'You really are very sweet my love. I suppose it's just when we get to a certain age all of a sudden we're okay with it. We'll tell you when we are ready I suppose. I just know, don't know why or how.. just do my sweet.'

"Do the others know?" It was an obvious question from Jase but he had to ask it. He didn't want to be the only person to know this, after all the health of the riders was on his shoulders, he didn't want to loose any to something that he couldn't do anything to prevent.

'Oh yes sweet. They know, and they will tell their riders when they're ready. You worry to much you know, perhaps if more of those dreams of yours came true you wouldn't worry so much.'

"What dreams?"

'Your dreams of CJ and you know which ones I am talking about.' She said with a little more sass that was characteristic of her when she was happy and teasing Jase.

Her response was that of a rather red in the faced rider, which to his further embarrassment rumbled with her amusement. Jase to his credit stayed quiet, though it did not, much to not his displeasure but more surprise he began reminiscing of those dreams, confident that Rikath would be just fine with it.
