Mean Mare in Trouble (Kita)

Emera was going to check her mare, Stormy, on the new location. Emera also was making sure her other three were settling well in the new location. Emera also thought the mare seemed to be a bit unsettled. It has been about a week since she had moved her horses here, or there abouts. She went over to the mare.

Stormy was frantic, and she decided to went over and taking some of her brushes, to see what's causing her some troubles. Then again, she could be when she's in season. Emera would not test that theory out with her stallion. She wasn't ready to breed the two just yet, perhaps her next season.

The mare spooked, and that set her off. The mare had cut her legs on a sharp, breaking the wood, that she ran right through. Stormy went down with a thrash. Emera ran to her mare, and saw the wound. It seemed deep. "Shhh." She stated.

Emera needed help, and she looked around, to see if someone, or something that could help her. She was not going to leave the mare alone. She went to grab the halter, and wrap that would be used to help stop the blood. Emera wasn't going to use the halter to keep her from thrashing, and that she was doing. The mare definitely skittish over something. Going to the barn quickly, she got something for the two legs, and then halter to keep her down. She hoped someone would come soon.

Zane was doing his usual scan over all the homesteads with Roman busy. Growing up around horses he knew something was not right with the mare that thrashed around, the feelings he picked up from her owner made him glide down and hop along towards Emera with a chirp, he knew this girl and he wanted to know what had her in such a fluster.

Emera saw the bronzey firelizard. She was rackled her memory trying to remember who he was. Zane, that was the bronze name. She would have to remember that.

"Zane, get help?" Emera asked him. She doesn't know how else to communicate with him. But she needed help badly, and she couldn't help but have Kita's image of her face in her mind. "You know Kita? Can you get her?" Emera asked despritely.

Stormy isn't dumb or anything, just something making her freak out. Right now, she wrapped the legs, to prevent more loss of blood, and one over the mare's eyes, especially to protect one that's towards the ground, and halter on to keep the thing on, while she went to sit, or leaned aginst the mare's neck. She knew the mare would need her head up, to get up. She was patting the mare, trying to get her to calm down.

The bronze eyed Emera a couple of times, tilting his head from side to side. It almost seemed as if he didn't understand and then with a blink he had disappeared with a pop between.

Kita had just helped with a rather late calving with one of the livestock on her farm when Zane popped out above her. His chitterings were enough to make her hold out her arm for him to land on as he fed her images and short words which made her as her mother to keep an eye on the calf as she dashed for the house and gathering her gear bolted for the horse she had been leant for the farm. There was no time to tack up and throwing her bag over her shoulder she slipped a simple halter over the mares head and mounted her speeding off. Whilst her experience with horses wasn't much didn't mean she didn't know how to ride one. Her father had taught her to ride one to help with the cattle runs, though Kita knew way more about cattle than she did about horses.

She reached Emera's farm in no time and dismounting the mare and leaving her in the field she raced towards where she could see Emera with. Suddenly Kita stopped and began a slow approach. It was Stormy, she knew the mare had a bad temper and she didn't want to spook her by approaching so fast. Getting within comfortable talking range she gave Emera a wear smile, some what breathless with her running. Setting down her bag, Zane attached to her shoulder having been silent the whole way there chirped to Emera as if to say 'see I told you i would bring her' or 'i'm not stupid you know'.

"What happened?"

That was all she needed to know, that and more if she could get close enough to get a look at her legs.

Emera noticed the bronze left, and hoped it wouldn't be too long before he could get hope. She had really haven't had chance to see one doing anything. But the bronze arrived back with Kita. She had rarely had a chance to use the woman, but have seen her around, and of course, help with some of her mare's pregnancy.

"Thank you, little one." Emera told Zane. She was grateful for him.

"I don't know what happened exactly, but she was panicking over something. I know Stormy isn't a good jumper. I suspect the recently down young tree. I suspect she tripped over the broken branch or something. I didn't see it. But I noticed blood coming out of her right legs. I think the front one is deeper. I didn't feel anything broken, when I wraped it from more blood loss. You think I should keep her down, until you access the problem?" Emera told Kita.

It was much as Emera knew and she hoped her mare would be fine, and wasn't as bad as she feared. She would keep the mare's head away from Kita, so that Kita wouldn't be bitten. At least the mare could only hear her.
