Description: Jassette is a slender woman of Korean decent. Her almond shaped eyes define her otherwise round face and make her seem almost innocent in appearance. She's softly rounded but not out of shape, her hips having extended due to the birth of her only child. Dark haired and dark eyes she seems almost doll like at times as she's almost dainty. At only 5'1" she's a fair amount shorter than her son.

Personality: Calm and even tempered, Jassette is ever the mediator in all hostile situations. Originally interested in being a negotiator for the police she ended up working in saddle making and other leather working practices when her father died unexpectly and left her with his personal business. She's generous and helpful to those around her, but can come back like a viper to attack if she or her family are seriously threatened.

Jazz also LOVES children, and often laments that she only has her now grown son. Since she was widowed before she and her husband could have any other children together this often comes out as her becoming maternal to other people's children and younger mothers. She's helpful when she can be, and watches children for those that have other things to do.

Despite frequent assurances that they will not harm her Jazz has an odd fear of the larger dragons. She seems fine enough around firelizards, but outright panics around dragons and dragonets alike. Her only explination has been that she is simply intimidated by their size and she hopes to someday be able to overcome this fear.

History: The only child of a professional saddle maker and a horse trainer, Jassette always had what she needed growing up. Her father encouraged her to learn his trade, which she delighted in as she grew and so learned what was otherwise considered a man's trade by many of their neighbors. Still, as she was only a child it didn't seem to matter.

She married at only 16 years of age, having been promised at birth to an associate of her father's son to solidify a promise of merging their two businesses. So before ever leaving school she was married to a young man of 21 years. By the time she turned 17 she'd had their son Damien and devoted herself to her family. A few years later tragety struck. Her father had a sudden heart attack and died, leaving her as the sole benefactor of his trade. Since her mother and her husband's family had all died by this point as well she had no choice but to accept the business despite her own wishes.

Her husband Donovan was very supportive of her dreams, and helped her bring her father's failing business back from the edge of disastor. Their world couldn't have been better, but then tragety found them again. At 25 Jassette's husband was killed in a mysterious accident while traveling with a friend of the family. A virtual war started straight after his funeral over the custody of her son and his family's only heir. This lasted well until the colony ships started gaining people.

When the opportunity to leave Earth for a brand new world came Jassette grabbed it, packing up herself and her son and escaping the world and its problems. Once they arrived on Pern Jassette set up her father's tradeshop again and became one of Pern's leatherworkers. She helps provide many of the leather made objects used around the colony, including saddles and harnesses for horses and other animals. She words from her home, and dreams of someday having a few horses to call her own. She also has just recently started learning how to make the dragon harnesses and wants to help improve on the design. Unfortunately she can't actually manage to get near the large dragons recently introduced to Pern as they scare the daylights out of her, much to the amusement of her young son.
